Coastie Memorial IM Thread - Share the Memories!

We lost a friend on September 15. MScoasttigergirl left this world, way too soon. Coastie, as we affectionately called her, was Jennifer in her real life. I considered her a friend - a friend that I only met once, but nonetheless cared for. She was funny, friendly and caring. She welcomed people here, and into her real life, openly and without judging them, and made this crazy place a little brighter with her presence. Things just perked up when she stopped by.
I don't post as much as I once did. I'm busier, and doing other things. Also, those old IM threads just weren't quite the same when some of the crew stopped playing - including Coastie. But we sure had some good times, didn't we? I laughed until I cried some nights. I like to think we became some sort of loose "family" in a way - and even though we didn't interact all the time anymore, I still knew this crazy bunch was out there. Somewhere. And now, there's a hole that will never be filled.
If we were able to get there, I'm guessing some of us would try to stop by the wake or funeral, and pay our respects. But we are scattered all across the country. And heck, we wouldn't know each other if we saw each other IRL anyway. But I think Coastie would appreciate us having this little memorial here - sort of an online wake in her honor. It's just fitting.
Coastie was French-Cajun-German. I'm not - I'm a British Isles girl, and I love Irish blessings. So, before the fun of sharing our favorite Coastie memories gets going, here's something I think she would like.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Rest easy, Jennifer, until we see you on the other side. I'm gonna miss you, you crazy Cajun girl.
Now. Let's celebrate the good times we shared!

Great tribute, Semo
I haven't been around much lately either but I have fond memories of this old crew and Coastie was a staple. I didn't know her IRL either but we interacted here often and via email. I'm going to miss her and hate that I lost touch with her these last several months.
Heart you, Jennifer

DC, weren't you around for the Bobby Petrino wedding guestbook thread? That was a good one! She LOVED that shenanigan!

Yes I remember this. It was hilarious but also a heartbreaking time for me.

As a lifelong LSU fan that grew up in enemy territory and eventually became an alum of a division rival, Coastie allowed me to experience Tiger Stadium and LSU tailgating for the first time. It was an experience I will never forget and I owe Coastie for taking my LSU virginity away from me.
Drinking bourbon from a little Jack Daniel's glass that came with a bottle of Jack she bought my underage arse when I went to meet her. To coastie!

Beautifully said, semo
Never had the chance to meet her, either, but I can't remember a time when I DIDN'T enjoy talking/bantering with her. She left a big impact on a lot of us who'd never met her in person.

Will be remembered most fondly because she reminded me why we should want to interact with each other electronically when physical distance makes it impossible. I wish more were like her and we would all be better for it. We hear of "6 degrees of separation" but in reality there is one who connects the most in the chain. Coastie was a 1.

I hope she was gentle!

And yes, DC, I'm sure that was painful. Just SO funny!

Weird feeling when you feel like you missed out because you were traveling when the bans got handed out. I got to where I was going and got on tOTB and was like....."where'd everybody go?"

I suck at searching on this site! I tried to find some of the greatest hits, and had a rough time.

the double arrows don't work like other sites where it takes you to the very last page. I'm at 2012 right now
