Saban is doing and thinking all of the right things. His run has been amazing. Nothing is broken, Recruit the best players, teach hem what to do, repeat. I think the losses he has had since 2008 have been based mostly on 3 things:

1. Great players on the other team: Tebow, Alshon Jeffrey, Cam, LSU talent, JFF and Evans, Ole Miss defense and Treadwell, Nick Marshall. There are athletes on most SEC teams who are special. Get one with some help around him and they can compete for 4 quarters.

2. kicking game execution or lack there of: 9-6, kick 6. Saban has improved this aspect the last couple of years.

3. turnovers: last year Ole Miss. Some of this is just a young guy doing something stupid. I'm sure Saban harps on ball security just like everybody else.

I must have missed that improvement. I think we can count on at least one missed field goal a game.

Very good explanation. And you should add one more critical point - for the last two years, Alabama had a quarterback starting in his very first SEC game. Ole Miss playing Bama early has been much better for them. If the situation were reversed (Bama with the experience and Ole Miss with inexperience at QB), it would be better for them to play later in the year. This isn't the only factor (Kelly overcame this last year) but it is a big factor two years ago and this year.
