Ok, which game do we need to win to make you believe we are good this year?

Arkansas? Many will just point out how much talent they lost. And we do it every year

Auburn? they aren't that good anyway right?

Tennessee? They are overrated and Dobbs is probably playing hurt right?

LSU. People will call an Alabama win a fluke and we desperately need to get over that we can't beat LSU hump.

So 12-0 to be considered good?

If we're 6-0 heading into the Bama game I'll believe we're pretty good.

If week one was any indicator though, the Bama/Ole Miss games will be the true measuring stick.

Losing to any of Auburn/Arkansas/MSU/USC this year is inexcusable.

Losing to Auburn is totally excusable, Clemson is no weak sister

And Arkansas will probably end up being decent just like last year. I think we're more talented than both but it's dumb to paint with such broad strokes after one week.

Auburn, Arky, and UT. If we get to bama 6-0 we will be good. At that point our floor is 9-3 and thats assuming LSU was a fluke loss.

Every Clemson fan/player/coach would tell you losing to them would have been inexcusable. They played their worst game in two years and still won.

Their offense is as bad as any I've ever seen at the major conference level.

It's 2016, long past time for our fanbase to develop some basic standards. We'd have been justified firing Sumlin for the 2015 Auburj game in and of itself.

I agree

But you are also saying we absolutely have to beat Tenn to be considered good

We are not the #2 team in the country and a national title contender. If those are your own personal expectations for this season that's fine, but it makes you delusional

They were able to lean on their running game the last two years at season's end. They won't have that luxury this year.

And they lost a top level senior qb

We absolutely should beat Arky

If their week one performance is indicative of the team they will be, yes. And week one is all we have to go on so far.

If they beat VT by 30, then perhaps it was a fluke. We need to beat the team that played Thursday night to be considered good, though.

Meanwhile on ESPN, Hugh Freeze is starting off a national title campaign in year 5 with a bang.

The difference between me and most of our fanbase is I don't grade on a curve.

They've yet to play 2 quarters of football

If we go 10-2 and go to a New Year's bowl I don't care who the two losses come to. I'm not grading on a curve, I'm grading the entire body of work rather than overreacting a single game sample size
