You have it twisted, boo. I didn't come into the thread bragging about having a job or a degree (from Ole Miss!) or anything like that. That was you.
I'm perfectly secure in my ability to earn money and live comfortably. Money isn't a big thing we try to desperately prove to each other around here. Every athletic venue we have is lined with suites, everything is well-funded, shiny and new. Talking about money and displays of wealth are rather gauche in my local area, even though there is plenty of real money here. Philanthropy is where it's at.
Poor people are just poor. They aren't objects of ridicule or derision or people you must exclude to prove your own worth. They're the people you help, and try to see the best in.
