I have yet to reach family in the Coursey / Jones Creek area for a long time now. I assume they have no power since home phone answering machine won't answer. Even there I get a dropped signal from my cell phone which is strange.
Can anyone living there tell me the latest news and if you've heard anything about when power is to be restored? I think they are on Demco

I'd go post this on the OT, I'd imagine there are way more BR people over there

I can tell you if they have AT&T they do not have cell service because they said their tower(or whatever its called) got flooded. It's a cluster frick without service. Prayers you can find them though!

ATT here has been real spotty, I think it just turned back on where I am.
That area of town got flooded pretty bad to be honest, but I have yet to go over there so I could not tell you first hand.
My parents had to go through some serious shite to go pick up friends over by Episcopal High School which is right around there.

>Coursey / Jones Creek area
Disclaimer: I am in Alabama.
That said, from posts on the Tiger Rant, one person said that Jones Creek Road was covered with water, but someone else said they drove Coursey Boulevard to Stumberg (which is near Jones Creek Road), and it was not under water. I also saw a video that Tiger Bend Road was completely under water. I therefore conclude that Jones Creek near Coursey is mostly okay, but Jones Creek near Tiger Bend is probably under water.
>I assume they have no power since home phone
>answering machine won't answer.
AT&T lines are down.

I just drove through there. One second and I'll edit this to fill you in on details. Trying to figure out where Demco is. Is it a street or Ave or what? Can you be a little more specific on exactly where they are? In Shenandoah or Broadmoor?
I'm still waiting for details on where exactly you mean. I tried to drive into Shenandoah by coming down Coursey from Sherwood Forest, but the water turned me back a couple of blocks from Jones Creek road. I heard you couldn't get to Shenandoah by coming down George O'Neal, so I tried Tiger Bend Rd. Again, I was stopped by water. Fortunately a big rescue truck came by me so I followed in his wake until Chippendale like a block or two from Jones Creek. The water was too high at that point so I went into Broadmoor subdivision on Chippendale then went through Broadmoor. Half of the houses there have power, half don't. The houses were dry. I then went into Shenandoah. I was only in the front half of the neighborhood but the houses mostly looked dry. Many of the streets were a couple feet deep in water but the houses I saw were dry. Power was out for most of the neighborhood. Yeah, I'm only connecting to the net on a Verizon aircard. The neighborhood people are doing a good job of patrolling the area and keeping things safe. Hope that helps. Question?

Coursey @ Jones Creek had some flooding. AT&T was down all day, so no calls went through anywhere.

No time-table.

I have a rental property condo off of Coursey on Parkoaks near Stumberg. Its dry as of now. When you start getting closer to Jones Creek is where the flooding starts. It really depends on their exact location in that area.
