I wish the NCAA would allow international pre-season trips more often than they do right now with basketball.

I agree. Not only is it good for the game itself but also a great educational opportunity for the players.

Seems more like a free trip for staff and their wives than anything. How does this trip help us win the games that matter vs. how much money was spent?

Gives an extremely young team more game experience prior to SEC Play.

You need to check the records of teams that do summer trips vs those that don't do summer trips. It is a great way to do some coaching and get some playing experience before Oct. 15th.

And it might be the difference in winning an extra game or two in Nov/Dec, which by the end of the season could be a deciding factor regarding postseason play. We won't know until we get there, but if the cost of the trip is an issue then we should've just kept Rick Ray and been happy with budget basketball,

it helped A&M alot last year, especially since we relied heavily on a 4 freshman class plus a grad transfer. Looks like it couldnt come at a better time for MSU as well

Most of our best seasons had an international trip ahead of it

FWIW UGA has been in Spain since July 31st, playing 3 games vs. Madrid (W), Valencia and Barcelona & returning Aug. 9th...

I hear we're without our arguably most talented player in Fr Mario Kegler.

Kegler didn't make the trip.
