Clemson should be #1 I think. Alabama is the same we will be every year under Saban, sold groups of core returning players but a lot of turnover due to early exits (and some misses at certain positios in recent years). Defense should be fine, only really need one linebacker to step up, not worried about dl and the secondary just needs to tke that second step along with you young DBs coming in to their own. Offense, we got oline and qb questions, so while skill positions are loaded its a wait and see who steps up kind of year, just like the last few years mainly on the oline

VOLS in top 10 at some point in the season during the 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 seasons. Got up to 12 in 2007. And then this morning.

When was the last time VOLS were ranked in the top ten? Serious question
Well now the answer is August 5th 2016
But it's been way too long before that

Even if OSU got to the title game in 1998, they still had John Cooper on the sidelines which would have almost guaranteed a loss.
Not even Coop could get in the way of that great team..just dumb, blind, bad luck.
FSU with Weinke would have beaten ewtee by 2 scores...OSU would have mauled them.
There are quite a few Buckeye fans that agree the '98 team was more talented than the NC teams of 2002 and 2014...just didn't get the chance.

Yep, it's very rare for a team to start and finish #1, but Alabama's results when starting #1 are actually quite good compared to most programs. Top 10 every time, with one national championship and arguably a deserved another.
Yeah it's only happened 10x in the 66 year history of the AP doing a preseason poll.
