Does Tennessee vs Missouri ever turn into a heated rivalry?

Obviously the two teams haven't played each other enough to form any type of rivalry up to this point, but now that we have them on the schedule every year can you see that changing going forward?

If Mizzou is ever actual competition then we need to fire our coach.

Are Kentucky and South Carolina heated rivalries

They seem like good people for the most part outside of what's currently going on in that thread on the rant. I think they could be a thorn in some teams side this year with their defense and a little improvement offensively, but we should grab another W at home this year, IMO.
Hopefully we can go on a little run and take the series back from them in a few seasons.

I can't imagine ever being bad enough as a program to consider them a rival

I think they give us more trouble than Kentucky and Vanderbilt going forward, but more on the level of South Carolina and not Florida/Georgia.

If it does it will happen organically. Missouri just doesn't even register right now. Boring and inconvient road trip, no real history. I consider the South Carolina game an after thought, yet it is infinitely more important than beating Missouri in my eyes.

It took the full force of Spurrier's personality, his background as a Tennessean, and his offensive genius plus Fulmer's steady straight man personality to create the Tennessee/Florida rivalry from scratch. Without any real history behind the game, I'm not sure it's possible to spark a real rivalry like that without some of those ingredients that made the UT-UF rivalry take off. Mizzou also comes at the end of the schedule and by the time we face them we've already played our most important games - UF, Bama, and UGA.
Because of the schedule, they may take over the spoiler role that Vandy has played in the past and tries to play every year but I don't see the game ever being a rivalry without a lot more history and spice added in and it doesn't look like the ingredients are there.
Right now, it just doesn't register with me except as just another game.

Fair and well said as usual. It definitely feels like just another game when we play them, but no matter how you slice it, it was nice to get that monkey off of our back after losing 3 straight prior to 2015.
I'm really curious to see what Odom can do in his first couple of years up there.

I assume you meant to say "if Tennessee can ever actually compete with Mizzou"...right?
I mean, check the head to head, baw.

You're going to be disappointed...and if I was Christ I'd post proof of the doubt each one of you have in the deepest darkest depth of your mind.
Odom is coming, baws, and nothing will prepare you for the disappointment you'll feel after Mizzou walks away with a W.
