I'm liking the SEC size of the OL recruits. Does anyone know what Elarbee's reputation was before Mizzou? Was Arky State pretty solid? Good teacher? Player recognitions?

Arky State was 15th in the nation in rushing and 12th in scoring offense last year. He had two players who were first team all conference and one third team on the OL. Pretty good stats at all of his stops - MTSU, Houston and Arky State.

He also put in a good year of work at Houston in 2013. When Travis Bush came in as the OC at Houston for the 2014 season, he wanted his own guy. The entire Houston staff was gone the next year. Bush is now a High School coach. Elarbee is coaching in the SEC. I think things worked out for him.

As Bass said Elarbee has gotten some very good results pretty much everywhere he has been. Not a sexy hire by any means. Maybe not a big time recruiter, but he seems to know how to develop and coach a line.
Offensive line is probably the one position where recruiting rankings are the most flawed. You see tons of two stars who end up being dominant players at this position and a lot of higher ranked guys who bust. The spot just requires so much development.
Hopefully Elarbee can turn the guys we have into a competent group, because if he does we are going to be pretty damn good.

Prior to the 2013 Tennessee game I read a game breakdown by a sports blogger. The guy actually compared star ratings between players and predicted the outcome of the game based on that.
He said things like Tennessee had 4 stars all across the defensive line. Missouri had 1 - 3 star, 3 - 2 stars, and a walk-on on the offensive line. So Tennessee should dominate the trenches.
It looked good on paper but things didn't turn out that way. Missouri 31, Tennessee 3.
