Shug Jordan won 1 SEC title in 25 years and averaged going 7-3

Pat Dye was not overrated at all. I think the argument could be made he was underrated. He had a couple of teams that easily could have won national titles if the odds had been in their favor nationally.

I agree with this. Pat Dye is also one of the most respected coaches within coaching circles which says a lot on its own.

You must have not been born during the Jordan Era. Fan support and political support during that time was heavy tilted toward UAt during those years. Throw in the Bear's recruiting tactic(see Junction Boys), and you have a claim that Jordan was one of the most underrated coaches in SEC history.

I don't think he's really overrated though because most people don't rank him that high. He's revered by Auburn people because he was a great man and a great American back when those things still mattered and did a lot more things than just football.

You're right about that. Only a moron would think this. He won 3 SEC titles in less than a decade, basically won a national title in 83 and was one play away from playing for another one in 88 and built the 93-94 teams.
