I just watched this. I think every Arkansas fan would find it interesting. It's currently on their featured documentaries.

Nutt looks....well, like Nutt.

Part of me agrees that it's stupid and no one should care. The other part of me realizes how incredibly bizarre and screwed up the whole situation was, so I can't help but want to learn more when the opportunity arises. It was kind of a big deal with consequences that set off a chain of events that forever changed Hog football. Not to mention we would have been beyond set for '06 and '07 if the idiots and egos involved could have played nice.

It's interesting in the same way any 30 for 30 is interesting: because of the characters involved. The particulars of place and time are irrelevant. Of course, I'm biased as the filmmaker is a friend of mine, but I think it's a great piece of sports documentary.

It is an interesting perspective into the life of a college recruit and QB. It would be interesting even if he hadn't been at Arkansas, IMO. It is a commentary on message boards and media as much as anything.

Exactly.

I don't really give a shite about the sides, except that Nutt definitely looks like a piece of shite, but we already knew that.

It's more about a kid being caught up into something that he never really asked for. It is also interesting to see the real people tell their stories, and hear about some of the circumstances surrounding the situation that we didn't get "hot takes" about from sports media people at the time.

My very last class in college was the summer before Mustain's freshman year and he was in it. I've never met a nicer and more humble kid on the football team than him. Perhaps it all changed, once he hit the field in the fall, but that kid got so embarrassed when folks in the class lauded him. He wanted nothing to do with the fame at the time. You would have never guessed that he was such a highly recruited kid.

One thing all Hog fans should thank Mustain for is he and his situation really was the catalyst that drug Arkansas athletics kicking and screaming and mudslinging out of the 1960's mentality of how to run an athletic department.

Without Mustain being used as bargaining chips and treated as something other than a student-athlete Broyles would possibly still be the A.D. Houston Nutt would possibly still be our football coach and we'd be circling the drain financially and competitively.

I don't agree with a lot of what JLo does and supports but it's better than the ol' boys club that Frank insulated himself with.

My lord, I just had a flashback to some very dark days on Hogville.

Actually, before that particular Mustain/Malzhan/Nutt era, it wasn't that bad.

I actually enjoyed the video. Reminds me of how effing dysfunctional the whole dale nutt regime was.
