They will plead not guilty to stretch things out and let everything cool down then cut a plea deal and put them on some in house probation program. They will never serve a day in jail or get convicted of a felony. They will be ready to play the beginning of the season.

Today's court appearance in Louisiana for Cam Robinson & Hootie Jones of @AlabamaFTBL PPD per District Attorney. No make-up date set yet.
Looks like it was postponed. Checks haven't cleared.
ETA
Apparently attorney illness is the reason.

Robinson will be given a free pass. Jones will probably get more severe punishment, but both should get 2-3 game suspension minimum because of the weapon in the car.

They plead not guilty and it is set for trial with lawyers defending them.

Help me here... since when is it a crime to have a weapon in your car in Louisiana? Do you know anything about the law and firearms?
Question #2, did you take "Suspension 101" in college and did that qualify you to wave your hand and airily proclaim an arbitrary number..."two or three games minimum?"
Either you cannot type a sentence that is understandable or expresses what you actually want to say, or you have a screwy idea about law, firearms, etc. Door number three is... you are another clueless firearm-challenged drooler.

What does the law have to do with punishment that would be handed down by the school?

So you understood the post. Good job.

Would the fact that the gun was stolen make it a crime?

He's a fricking idiot. The fact that he has a gun with him along with the drugs is what makes it a felony.

Pretty sure nobody can help you if you don't understand that stolen guns + drugs = FELONY

Are you not familiar with the charges?
Alabama offensive lineman Cam Robinson and reserve defensive back Laurence ''Hootie'' Jones have been released from jail after their arrest on drug and weapons charges.
Ouachita Parish Sheriff's records show Robinson and Jones were cited Tuesday for the misdemeanor charge of carrying a weapon in the presence of narcotics. Robinson also faces a charge of felony possession of stolen firearms.
LINK
They WERE arrested for having a firearm in the car with narcotics, and Robinson was arrested for being in possession of a stolen firearm. So, the previous poster was correct about the law part. The suspension part, was, I am guessing, his opinion.

1) When you've got illegal drugs in the same car.
2) When the gun is stolen.
Hootie is charged based on #1. Cam is charged based on both #1 and #2.

Both gone at years end
Cam - 1st round
Hoot- processed for upcoming recruiting class
