Bradley University Braves? Must not be racist. Kept the name Braves, but now represented by a hideous gargoyle
Alcorn State Braves? Well, they are also still the Braves, but seem to have no logo anymore.

Best advice, gather input from semi-recognized groups of Civil War Rebels to find out if they object to you using their image and name. This seems to be the plan with the Native American mascots.

If any single one of them raises a concern, you are screwed (and probably an evil, racist, misogynist, homophobic, and illiterate fatass).
