Can the conference levy penalties on a school?

Here's the operative language from the BDF bylaws (specifically, Section 3.6):

quote:

Without limiting the foregoing and merely as an illustration of the types of Sanctions that could be considered by a Supermajority of Disinterested Directors are prohibitions on appearance in postseason events or televised events, restrictions on revenue distributions, and limitations on recruiting or scholarships.

So nothing prohibits the remaining members from sending Baylor to the curb. And given their past issues with the murder cover-up, one can argue "lack of institutional control" as a basis.

Given how OU wants out, why not unravel things?
