Yep, Rogers sky is falling though

I knew it was coming and the sky fell long ago

I'm just not worked up over Tate and a kid that was going to decommit anyways seizing a moment like this as his excuse.

I don't think any of us that post on here are. Neither have been committed for quite some time. Turning what would have been a small amount of negative press into a front page story on ESPN kind of symbolizes how this staff has managed things the last two years though

Can't disagree with that.

The reasons don't matter, it's our image. Every recruit in America now believes an A&M coach ran other players off with a Twitter rant.

Thank goodness it's May and we have a whole season to play before anyone can sign anywhere

Again, you're just looking for any sliver of hope instead of acknowledging the outcome that is overwhelmingly likely.
This yet ANOTHER example of a poorly run program.

Moorhead made a mistake, but both were decommiting and neither had anything to do with moire head

IT DOESNT MATTER, perception matters. The media is running with this, it was a lead story on the most listened to national sports radio program in the country this morning. Everyone is talking about the dipshit A&M coach whose tweets ran off recruits.

That's an interesting point. People like me wouldn't have even known this happened (don't really follow recruiting), but the social media part of this got it picked up on local sports radio. A good lesson on thinking before you post something on social media.

Yep. This could very well be the death knell for Summy. Dude's been in dumpster-fire mode for more than 6 months and declining since he started. He may not make it to 2017.

Call me an Aggy for saying it, but I think this is being made a bigger deal than it is because some people in the media want us to fail. We aren't sexy anymore, and we aren't a blue blood, so to them we are roadkill.

Allen and Murray transferring probably has something to do with it, and I think media knows Sumlin's seat is pretty warm so they are going to jump on it. Social media in all sports these days is a story in itself.
But no, there isn't a media conspiracy against A&M. That's probably one of my biggest pet peeves about a segment of our fanbase

I think it is just a sports story that rolled into a cautionary tale that could happen to anyone (from a media narrative perspective). The story is one of negative consequences flowed from a post on a social media account. The media sees this and thinks, this will be a good story to push because everyone has a social media account and they can relate to it.
I say this because the local angles on this haven't really focused on the recruiting outside of setting up the story. They've been talking about the consequences of social media. If it was word of mouth that did this, it wouldn't be a story. Because it was twitter, the media is bleeding it. Old, stodgy sportswriters hate twitter, always remember that.

Win 9 or more and it doesn't matter.

Yeah most of what I've read has more to do with social media and recruiting in general rather than A&M specifically

I agree with you Boxer, they know that they can sensationalize the heck out of it with no repercussions
They just smell our blood in the water

I don't think there is. I just think a lot of the reporters (and fans) in the sport prefer Blue Blood programs and so they are quick to jump on bad news when an "upstart" or basically anyone who isn't a blue blood screws up and builds a narrative of screwing up. Same bias goes against a Baylor or a Boise St.
The only thing I think is Aggie specific is we are the ones screwing up right now. And I disagree with Sarge in that I don't even think a nine or ten win season could undo a disaster on NSD given that we lost control of the message.

I don't think we are viewed in the same ilk as Baylor and Boise. Do you think Michigan State was viewed that way a few years ago before they started contending?
