You're conveniently leaving out the additional possession for the other team.
1 good shot with a chance for an offensive rebound + putback > 2 rushed shots + additional possession for the other team

No, not at all. I specifically stated that you can foul and still have a one possession game no matter what. 2 games with 1 good shot and a chance for an offensive putback ended in defeat. I prefer quantity of opportunities given that our team is not an efficient scoring offense (never above 50% fgm).
