Gotta applaud Alabama for playing in-state schools
Uh, no. Bama will not play in-state schools. No UAB, South Alabama, Troy, Jax State, or Samford. I believe Auburn has played everyone of those except maybe USA.

The only Division 1A game vs an in-state team Alabama or Auburn have ever played was Auburn vs UAB in 1996 in UAB's first ever Division 1A game. Neither Alabama or Auburn has ever played Troy or South Alabama.
Auburn has played a few of the 1AA schools in-state lately (Samford, Jax St, Alabama A&M). Alabama has not (though Alabama and Auburn played Samford regularly in the early years when it was Howard as well as Birmingham Southern).
