Mizzou is number 14 which is last in the SEC, but Pinkel got some love for coaching kids up

I think Odom will end up with higher star rankings than Pinkel.

Hopefully BO and his staff will be as successful coaching them up.

GP put more guys in the NFL than several of the guys in front of him. So his recruiting was better than the star rankings show.

A recruiting ranking should be based on the actual production and contribution of the class to the program.

A recruiting class Impact Projection is more appropriate. For example TB Jr.'s Impact projection at Mizzou would be much higher than at Bama because he would be a projected instant starter where at Bama he would have 2-3 players in front of him.

But that would take real analysis, and the star chasing is for the fans for bragging rights.

I guess Bama, Florida St., Ohio St., etc can all say that the star chasing is for winning National Championships. These schools win also, because they have very good coaching! Honestly, I believe the reason that the Vols, Gators, LSU, Ole Miss, Georgia, etc. who all are always in the top 15 in star ratings seem to flop is because of average coaching.

That's not really a good way to evaluate. Alabama gets lots of guys that don't play much as freshmen that could come to Mizzou and be major contributors.
On a per player bases the recruiting services miss on a bunch of players, but there is a reason that teams that are elite at recruiting are almost always the best teams.

I disagree. For example UT's high rankings don't account for Butch Jones massive processing. So many of those recruits never actually impact the team. Recruiting is supposed to lead to having an impact. If Bama stockpiles recruits who have little impact, it should weaken the ranking. Whereas when Houston's or Temples recruits have winning impacts, those rankings should be higher.

Teams with high recruiting rankings are much more likely to win the conference and make the playoff than those that don't.
Bama has had the best recruiting over the last decade, and has the most SEC and national championships. They just don't rely heavily on freshmen. Look at Scales, Bama wanted to greyshirt him. At Mizzou he may play as a true freshman.

I want a coach that gets all the in state talent (that includes East St. Louis). He should also be able to recruit legacy players. No way we miss Kellen Winslow JR. in Pinkles early years.

We also missed out on James Wilder Jr. We probably had no chance against Florida St.
