well mike isn't exactly stabilizing us either. He maybe building something but i'm not sure what that is anymore. I'm in favor of 1 more year but after 6 years if we're still going to struggle to make any kind of post season play then we need to cut bait. it sucks and we might do worse but we might do better. The other option I see as completely realistic is to cut the basketball budget down and just give up.

something else to consider is while past searches have been shite shows I don't believe they were done while jeff long was on staff. Maybe you give him another shot to figure it out if this isn't working. The remedy for something that isn't working isn't to continue to do it, change is scary but at times you take that risk to embrace the possibility that you can do better.

Don't disagree with any of this. But I'm saying he's more than likely going to make the NCAAT next year and thus, won't be on the hot seat. If he doesn't then he def. should be and we should look to move in another direction.

And you're arguing semantics with the "cheating" shite.

We simply do not pull strings on the level that other "elite" programs do. Is that simple enough for you to agree with?

I'm far less confident we make the NCAAT next year. We might but it's going to take next year being a much much better team than this year. They'll need the ability to win on the road which is always tough but especially tough for new guys to come in and gel.

I can agree with that. however what is the difference in penalties between just giving players cash and what the other teams are doing? Seems like we're taking a big risk for almost no reward. While the other guys are taking a big risk but able to gain a big reward.
