This has already been a thing for a while, they are just filing a new lawsuit. I wonder if they are the same girls who destroyed their phones to hide evidence in which the defendants lawyers are still trying to get their records. Innocent until proven guilty.

Everybody should read that carefully and let it soak in for a minute.
They're openly saying in their lawsuit that the UT process is unfair because it affords the accused the right to counsel and the right to confront their accuser.
They're saying with a straight face that two of the most basic rights the US constitution grants one accused of a crime are unfair.

What most people should also realize is that many, many schools do not provide those basic accommodations for the accused.

None of this is news, except that they filed a civil suit looking for money.
Take this with all the discussion about UT's legal processes in the prior few posts in mind.

That seems to be something that would be wide open to constitutional challenge. The title IX system creates a defacto alternate criminal justice system for colleges. It isn't unreasonable at all to assume the accused should be afforded the same basic rights that they get in the real world.
Also, along those same lines, a crime victim doesn't have to use that system. There isn't one thing to prevent a rape victim from going to law enforcement and pursuing real criminal charges if they aren't satisfied with the university system.
IMO, this is a pure money grab.

For what it is worth, Tennessee is the only state that allows this.
