Dude, in all seriousness they are on track. Won't happen though because of the path they chose to get there. There have been some shady doings in Oxford and the ncaa have set up shop. Why do you think Scarbrough was suspended the first half of last year? Of course his case is small beans compared to the other stuff.

Let me add that I don't wish to see them crippled with scholly reductions and such. I just think that it is inevitable. Sad really because I like having a strong Ole Miss program. It's good for the SEC.

Ole Miss has gotten very good, but they do not have LSUs accomplishments.Props to Hugh Freeze for bringing OM up. the talent on the field at the Sugar Bowl was amazing. Don't know if there is not anything shaddy going on with the OM boosters

If OM keeps this momentum (and doesn't get hit to hard by the NCAA) they have the potential to be serious contenders without a doubt. They are pulling in some amazing classes, but they really need to be pulling in classes like this year every year to be considered "elite". Not that pulling in a ranked 15ish class for 2 years then signing a top 5 class every third year is bad. It's very respectable and if it continues, they will win the SEC at some point. But to win a NC, you really need several top 5 classes back to back.

We all know (or anyone with a brain knows) what it really holding LSU back. The inability to develope a consistent QB. That falls squarely on the coaching. If we had had a serviceable QB this past year, we would not be having this conversation and everybody knows it. We very likely would have beaten Bama and the OM and Arky games wouldn't have been even close. No offense to either of those teams. They are both really solid programs at this point.

The truth is, the west has become very competitive with a lot of teams that can very easily pull an upset over any other team in the west. I really think it's going to be a long time before we see another undefeated west champion.

Ole miss is arguably at their pinnacle right now. LSU is in the midst of their worst two year stretch under miles. Ole miss is 1-1 against LSU in those years.

Ole miss didn't win the west and didn't win 10 regular season games. Had LSU played McNeese, they would have finished the season at 10-3 and it would be considered a total let down. Ole miss wins their first sugar bow since Archie and suddenly they've surpassed LSU?

A better question would be, which program is trending up over the past four years.

LSU is nationally one of the top programs of all time. Ole Miss isn't even a top team in the conference.
