Alabama lost out b/c Saban fired Bo Davis.
And Bama is having a difficult time finding a replacement.

.? They have already
Ready replaced him?
His removal was advantageous yes. But they moved quickly and have replaced him already.

We'll need to hit big on defense in '17.
Great pickup by Kiffin. Hopefully he we hang on to him.

Anyone know anything about this Connor Blumrick kid we just offered? He plays QB and he's 6ft 6in. He doesnt have any big offers but he might be getting some this summer.

Red Cup did a write up on him last Friday.
So far, he's only been offered by Tiger High (he's an inch shorter than Paxton Lynch and still a junior in high school), Texas State, and us. Also last Friday, Barton Simmons compared him to Carson Wentz in an update about remaining 2017 QBs.
Dude seems like he's got all the measureables programs are going after in QB's these days with the whole being six and a half feet tall thing. He's also seemingly athletic enough to fit in with what we want to do at QB. He'd be our tallest QB under Freeze by a solid two inches (Dr. Bo and Pellerin are both 6'4"), assuming he doesn't get any taller haha.
Here are the general recruiting/film links on him:

I don't know anything about him but this is the type of guy we are going to take this year. Most of the top QBs are already committed and it was always going to be hard to grab a top QB the year after we got Shea.
He has pretty decent athleticism for being 6'6". Has a good arm which will get better once he learns to step into his throws. Probably needs 2-3 years before he'd be ready to play but we can afford that with Shea and Pellerin above him

Just read an article on 247 about lsu hiring Austin Thomas back from USC. Sounds like a solid recruiter and and a key cog for organizing and evaluating recruiting.
Then the addition of dameyune Craig and Ed orgeron already being there.
And with the mindset of some Louisianna kids wanting to stay in Louisianna.
With the insecurity of Les miles job I would think these guys would not be moving towards the boot.
But anyway Les has had to replace all sorts of coaches on the coaching staff and has assembled a bunch of recruiters.. Not coaches IMO so we will see how this plays out this year.

In 2012 an undermanned team went to Baton Rouge and fought a good fight.
In 2013, missing many D-Line starters Ole Miss was able to pull out a victory in Oxford.
In 2014, with a weak armed QB the Rebels fell in another close game in Baton Rouge.
In 2015, with a healthy QB the Rebels took down the Tigers for the 2nd time in 4 years.
It appears the Rebels are gaining more ground on LSU than Bama. LSU has yet to beat Ole Miss comfortably, since CHF has arrived at Ole Miss.
I do believe CHF is out coaching Miles and his staff. Given equal and healthy talent I look for the Rebels to take down the Tigers in Baton Rouge this season.
CHF said he came to bring a championship to the state of Mississippi, so far I believe he can get there.
If he beats Bama, Auburn and LSU again this season he will be 3-2 over the last 5 years against the last 3 teams to win the SEC west.
With still inferior talent levels Ole Miss has played the 3 best teams in the west to 2-2. CHF isn't getting out coached.
LSU, Bama and Auburn need to take a look in the mirror.

I wonder if we can get any other IMG kids to visit?

Why do you say that we lead the CB sides with UT.
Posted on 5/12/16 at 9:10 am to TampaReb
247 had a podcast and said that UT isn't even a contender anymore.

Sweet that is awesome just wasn't sure. Do we know when he is announcing?
Posted on 5/12/16 at 11:27 am to TampaReb
I don't think exactly but rumor is it could be next week.

The things I liked about his video:
1) he was playing safety on some plays
2) when he makes a tackle there is no forward progress.

Yeah they have the #1 LB and #9 LB in the country on the team ahead of him in a 4-2-5 so they just play him at safety.

4 Star Safety Derrick Tucker commits to Texas A&M. Figured we might get him considering he played with D. Anderson and D. Pennamon at Manvel.
