Good questions, but I'm not sure that I could give a good answer to the last one. It's just that from my earliest memory, I was a Bama fan. When I was a kid, dad would pop a huge bowl of popcorn and we'd get our Coca-colas and watch the Bear Bryant show on Sunday...which was a little strange because I think that deep down my dad was really an Auburn fan. Mom was, and still is, a huge Bama fan. My two younger brothers are hardcore Gators.

I got to see the Bear and Bama destroy UF 40-0 in Gainesville in '79, was wearing crimson in the student section. I had a great time at UF and all of my friends knew that I loved Bama and I had no problems at all with it.

Probably didn't do your question justice with my answers.

Interesting. I can certainly understand the power of those childhood memories, especially the ones shared with your Dad. I have a hard time imagining being a UF student in the student section and rooting against the Gators, but maybe for you it was more about staying true to the roots you grew up with. In any event, I appreciate you explaining a little more.

One last question, if you don't mind. Do you root for Florida when they are not playing Alabama?

(edit, that should clearly say "not" playing Alabama, since we just discussed when they are)

Yes. Although, the folks I work with are Gators (for the most part) and they get a little obnoxious when things are going good.
