What do they get out of trying to tear down the legacy of one of the most successful coaches of all time? A lot of grief from Bama fans that take all this way too seriously, that's what.

Look shitehead. No one is taking Coach Bryant too seriously except as a role model, which he was. He was a product of dirt-poor Arkansas share croppers, brutally and completely honest, moral (he did drink though), indefatigable worker, driven by the fear of having to go back to the plow, perfectionist, with a magnetic personality.

Go and do likewise.

fricking soliloquy about a drunk racist.

Yes I wrote an obit. When I came back from Vietnam and enrolled at Alabama in 1969, I was fortunate to meet Coach Bryant. I had some interaction with him for the next 10 years off an on though he probably didn't know my name. I don't understand why little people somehow think it brilliant prose to hurl imaginary insults at a distance of 30 years. Regardless, I know what I saw and experienced and I am sharing that for those who want the truth. What are you doing?

Apology: I wrongly associated this little ugly internet tramp with LSU. I was wrong and hasty and even though I occasionally get some good-natured comments about Coach Bryant, I haven't heard an LSU friend of my generation just throw dirt. On the contrary, most do seem to appreciate his core qualities.

A role model of what? How to be an a-hole and be a bully to people under you to get what you want?

I am sure some trial lawyer somewhere sees him as a great role model.
