Bruce Arians coached the RBs and WRs at Mississippi State in 1980, the year they beat Alabama and ended Bear Bryant's legendary run of back-to-back-to-back National Titles. The next year, he coached running backs under Bryant at Alabama before taking a head coaching job. This is what made Bryant so great: his ability to identify talent. There was a second stop for Arians in Tuscaloosa as Offensive Coordinator in the 1990s as well. Alabama also has an impact on the other side of the ball in former quarterback and head coach Mike Shula. While he was fired, his failure could be seen as a success, as it gave way for Mal Moore to hire NFL-coach Nick Saban, who put together the greatest dynasty in sports in the the 21st century at Alabama. Bama Boy Bruce Arians is ready to Roll Tide his way to victory today over those horrible Scamthers today! Mike Shula has his head-gear on, chin-strap strapped and is ready to call plays! When Rashad Johnson intercepts Cam Newton on the last play of the game, remember that Alabama has the most impactful presence of any college program in NFL history. Oh yea, and Scamthers fans, let's hope Shula doesn't Shula the place up. Roll Tide!
