I use basically a lot. It's a nice non-committal way of framing something.

I work for a global company and I swear, if you get to director level, you have to start your sentences with So... and end them with ..., right? even though it's not really a question being asked.

ex. So, instead of focusing on XYZ, we need to focus on ABC, right?

I think you nailed that. These days, we have to deal with so many people that have short attention spans,we have to frame the things that are important in their roles.

I admire eloquent speech and artfully using vocabulary,but anymore, it's better to just get to the points as efficiently as possible. Some people lose focus too quickly.It's not that they are stupid,they are just juggling a lot of stuff in their head at once.
