The problem is that, academically, they aren't really all that impressive to begin with.

I can't disagree, but they're not that bad, either. The trouble with your evil plan for bringing OU to the SEC (or me sending them to the B1G) is #149 Oklahoma State is that bad. (And that ranking reinforces my belief that US News is clueless, with them above the rantards at Texas Tech and, sadly, MSU) And as long as T. Boone Pickens is alive, Oklahoma isn't going anywhere without Oklahoma State. Sez me, and I have inside info I got from my cousin's boyfriend's sister-in-law.

Disclaimer: Aggies would HATE OU coming to the SEC. Those bastards have been stealing Texas recruits for decades and that has only recently started making moves in the right direction. Bringing them to the SEC moves them back to their good old days. Adrian Peterson, Billy Sims, etc.

Even the derpiest birds have to be thrown from the nest eventually. OSU will either fly or land on the crown of its head, breaking its spine.

Either way, nothing of value would be lost.

But my scenario cuts Texas out of the picture, because they'd be floundering much like they have been ever since Colt McCoy got his hymen torn in the NCG.
