This ended up being a pretty good read. There were a lot of good insights into the 2014 season. It definitely gave me more respect for Bo and the mounds of shite fans gave him. I was already one of those that is quick to acknowledge that he's probably got as much as much to do with our success as Freeze does, though. He'll always be remember d by me as one of my favorite Rebel QBs ever.

First off - we all kne his shoulder was fuuuuucked up his Sophomore year, but he covered a lot of it up. He reinjured it in the Arkansas game that year just before he led us on the game winning drive. For the rest of the season he couldn't even lift his arm for most of the week leading up to each game. I didn't realize just how bad it was.

Next, his foot injury against Arky in 2014 was waaaaay worse than I ever knew. Apparently he couldn't even drop back to pass as late as the Wednesday before the State game. It was bad. The doctors didn't want him to play. He did anyway.

Those were just two examples that I can remember off the top of my head, but shite that dude was tough as nails.

Also, he didn't leave the LSU game early because he was butt hurt. He was following other teammates (Treadwell included) down the tunnel because they all thought the game was over and knew it was about to get crazy. They didn't realize there's was still time on the clock. And earlier in that game when he held up 3 fibers to Jalen Mills he wasn't taunting him with our ranking, but saying "y'all have had no defensive depth for 3 years now and it's about to bite you again".

His relationship with Freeze was also really good and not nearly as strained as the media liked to make it seem. They butted heads, but always talked it out.

All in all, it was a great look into that season and Bo specifically. I already respected the hell out of the guy, but the book illuminated that he wasn't as much of a douche as we were led to believe.

Kid was definitely tough. It was great to see him carried off the field after he beat Bama.

ehh I'll never forget him bitching a girl out bc she didn't know who he was when he tried the "Hey.. I'm Bo Wallace." line on her.

I have heard that the book is very good though. It's on my que.

I got it on Amazon Prime for my old man for Christmas. He just finished reading it on the plane back from the Sugar Bowl and going to let me borrow it next.

Not sure. My mom got it for me for Christmas at Square Books.

Could probably get it off Amazon, too.

It's worth a read, for sure, and it's a really fast read, too.

Honestly, what SEC QB wouldn't try that line at least once?

But yeah, I said MAYBE not AS MUCH of a douche as I thought - everyone's a little bit douchey.

Edit - I didn't say maybe in my original statement. Should have.

I ordered it from Amazon and read it last month over Christmas break. It was a really interesting and enjoyable read.

It made me appreciate Bo more than I did prior to reading. The guy was a tough SOB.

ETA: "The Last Season" is a really good OM read as well.

Bo's toughness was the thing that worried me most about replacing him. The guy had his bad moments but you could always count on him playing his nuts off every Saturday. I mean the guy played on a damn near broken ankle with no ability to scramble and picked apart Mississippi State's defense.

Kelly has impressed me with his toughness. That was one thing that surprised me most about him this year
