Other fan bases never root for Bama, that doesn't seem have one ounce of an impact on what Bama has accomplished, or will accomplish in the future.

no one said it did and that's kind of the point. same can be said of alabama rooting for other sec teams as well. their success is not predicated on whether or not other teams' fans root for them. but the OP is right. I've seen threads every day since the end of the regular season telling everyone why they should root for SEC teams in bowl games, as if it matters.

I will permit myself to wish a small modicum of success for the Rojo Pachyderms, if only for the sake of the gentlemen Bama posters like Patton, Tuscaloosa, bigscc, B'ham Belle, Alacyclone, and a few others.

if the SEC has a good showing overall in bowl games, what Alabama does in the playoffs won't really matter. The SEC wasn't nearly as strong this year as it's been regardless. The bowl season doesn't change that. It's been pretty apparent all year long the league was down as a whole this year.
