I know many will say 2012 Bama or the 2013 Cotton Bowl was the height of their Aggie excitement, but for me it was immediately after the 2014 USC game. Kenny Hill was gonna be tGOAT, our offense was unstoppable, Spav was a genius, Snyder had our defense playing better and Sumlin was on top of the coaching world. I was convinced we were on the verge of the best run in our history.

And then it all went to shite

Will never forget the feeling walking out of that stadium. Saw the HBC's press conf on tv screens inside the stadium. He was a beaten man...

What happened on a random Thursday in 1999?

Agreed with both. USC '14 was the high point for me. I got to drink crappy free beer and smoke victory cigars with SafetySam and Father of SafetySam outside Williams-Brice. Kenny Hill looked like a legit Heisman candidate after demolishing a preseason #9 team (how crazy is that?). Defense was excellent. Perfect game. And then it turned out USC wasn't very good and Kenny liked passing out drunk in planters. A bit of a bummer. And then 59-0 happened.

The 1999 Tech game was on the 7th, right?

The 9th, and why would a 2 point loss in Lubbock be the tipping point?

Yes it did

We all should have known then. Championship coaches don't lose like that, not in year 3.

It was the himp we could never get over. The Oklahoma massacre 2 weeks later buried any remaining hope.

I kinda sorta felt like that then. But I dismissed it as "we have a dumbass QB who has screwed up the season". Now I'm not so sure, particularly after he ruined Kyle Allen. I'm torn between "he can get it right" and "he's laughing his arse off with his $5M salary".

We've been a sleeping giant for 15+ years.

Really if we're objective, we've never really had a "great" run as a program. The run from '85-'95 was largely facilitated by a low point in Texas' history and a shitty schedule every year in the SWC. We basically played 2 real games a year, and then annually got snuff porn film raped in bowl games.

Since 1995, we've had three years you could call good: 1998, 2010 and 2012. Only in one of those yeas dos we win the bowl game.

Except '85, '86, '90, and '95, right?
