Incredibly well done and frankly terrifying documentary series. It will make your blood boil. Truth truly can be stranger than fiction.

Yeah I watched 3 episodes over the weekend and got so angry I couldn't watch any more for a few days.

Man is convicted of a rape he didn't commit in 1985 due to obviously gross misconduct and malice by the police and DA, is exonerated 18 years later with DNA evidence, sues the county and immediately after is charged with murder in the same county. The evidence overwhelmingly indicates he was framed because of his suit.

Literally. The day after the final deposition in the civil suit was given.

I keep seeing that in my suggestions. I will have to give it a try.

The scary part is that the evidence in both cases not only created reasonable doubt but CLEARLY painted him as innocent. He was convicted in spite of the evidence. Neither was even a case of the authorities convincingly framing him, they just did it and got convictions.

Watched the first episode over the weekend and had trouble sleeping.

Rethinking my need to give it a shot

Crazy that this is even possible.

Is this gonna be like those Paradise Lost documentaries? Where they try to convince you of the innocence of the suspect when in reality they are guilty as shite?

It could happen to any of us. ANY of us.
I've had ex-gf's who ended up dating a cop then have that department give me hell w/ pulling me over and writing up tacky tickets and searching me for nothing. It's a good thing I have a lot of buddies that are cops and that whore showed her true colors by fricking a couple of the officers and causing them all sorts of drama. hahahah frick those clowns.
Always be good to the boys in blue, hopefully they'll be good to you in return.

Not really. Think about all the relatively intelligent people you know that have bitched about getting a jury summons.

That's the thing: The film makers don't have to try to convince you of anything. The words and actions of the authorities themselves damn them without having to contort things at all. There is actual footage and written record of their plots and attempted deception.
There isn't a lot of insinuation or presumption, most of it is outright factual documentation of a conspiracy and cover up.

If the "system" has something against you, you have no shot, you're going to be railroaded. I've seen it a lot, much more than any of you believe possible.

Yep, it's typically socio-economic factors or petty personal grievances more so than institutional racism or some other form of discrimination.

Seen and heard enough to believe that beyond a shadow of a doubt.

In the deposition with the "sketch" artist:
"So you believe your sketch is more accurate and incriminating than the factual DNA evidence clearing Avery of this crime?"
