As a result Auburn stalled this year. We weren't absolutely horrible, though.

Do you really think Gus can get the ship righted? Especially on the defensive side of the ball?

Although not directed to me, I will take a stab.

Gus needs to fix the offense. Marginal increases in the defense will be great, but his teams are always going to live and die with offensive production. This year was strange with the qb situation and the rb situation.

Next year is tough starting with Clemson, but it will probably give a pretty good indication of whether he can right the ship.

Yes. Stranger things have happened. Gus has had success everywhere he has gone. If he can open the offense up the way he has done in the past (throughout his career), then playing defense shouldn't be such an issue. Not exactly my favorite style of football, but Auburn knew that when we hired Malzahn. QB play has been the dagger so far. But if you live by the sword, you die by it as evidenced thus far with the Tigers. Either way, I don't expect Auburn to have a very good defense any time soon.
