Any word on this? GatorBait saying there are people who have talked with AU alumnus citing that the transfer is all but done. Not sure where he is going, but possible to UF. There is word that he is getting a family hardship acceptance from the NCAA to not have to sit out. Total rumor at this point, but some credible posters over there have had this info for over a week.

Byron Cowart?
No clue.
I am sure he was devastated that Boom left.
That being said, he got plenty of playing time this year.

There's no way he transfers directly from Auburn to Florida. Unless Auburn is retarded.
Nevermind

It's Byron.
Would welcome with open arms even though we're solid at SDE with CeCe.

If he goes anywhere but UF he sits out guaranteed, unless JUCO.

Some have been citing an illnes in his family. The NCAA will provide a waiver for that sometimes. They did last year for T.J. McCoy.
Not sure if AU could block him if that's the case.

Why wouldn't he? AU is about to hire a DC on the level of Kevin Steele. His career would be fricked if he stayed.

It would be nice to get to a point like Bama where we are keeping the same level of talent on the field and fresh... rotating them.

No such thing as hardships anymore with the NCAA. Will have to sit out

Why not USC with Muschamp? That's his coach.

I hope so. At least we wouldn't have to look at a thread every day about the kid.

Can't he transfer to JuCo and go wherever he wants after that?

Unless that rule was changed in the last few months you're wrong.

I thought they tightened that up as well. It is a shame for those who are legitimate, but I think the NCAA felt too many were trying to abuse the process.
I cannot remember the kid's name, but I remember a student athlete getting denied this year who seemed very legitimate.

I read transfer thread after transfer thread on here and I have no idea why people think these kids can transfer within conference.
Not going to happen.

Yes. Pretty sure he'd have to either transfer and sit out a year at another D1 school, or go juco and then transfer wherever he wants.
I haven't seen anything but vague rumors about this on AU boards, but if he does transfer, hopefully the coaches won't be mean and yell at him in practice. Apparently he really doesn't like that.

GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIENDNo HARDSHIP allowed, would have to sit a year or go JUCO.
NCAA athletes who transfer will no longer be able to apply for a hardship waiver to become immediately eligible at a new school starting in 2015-2016.
Under the new scenario, a player who redshirted as a freshman and transferred after his redshirt sophomore season could be eligible to play two years at his new school after sitting out a season.
