This dude turned AJ Derby into an NFL draft pick at tight end, coached up Hunter Henry to be an All American and (probably) Mackey Award winner by his junior year, and turned Jeremy Sprinkle into a fantastic tight end that could easily carry the load if Henry goes pro. And we redshirted 3 4* TEs this year that he'll get 4 more years to work with. He's the most underrated coach on our staff.

I actually think that once we get about 3 years out of Enos and he moves on, Lunney will be the OC in waiting.
May be wrong, but thats just the feeling I get.

He's definitely all Arkansas and has been one of our clutch recruiters.

I would drink Enos' bath water if this was to happen.

I mean Lunney has been an OC before.
He really derailed his own career on the college level by hitching his wagon to a branch of Nutt coaching tree.
But then its a catch22 as it was a way in.
With more experience, he may prove one day to be a HC at this level, there isn't really anything to gripe about the job he has done compared to the other former players we've had on staff in recent memory (Shibest, Botkin, Horton, etc).

I thought about this last year during the OC search, what's wrong with Lunney? I guess Bert thought he was too inexperienced and clearly knew what he was doing with Enos. I can easily see Lunney being the coordinator and then head coach in 6 or 7 yrs if the Bert experiment goes awry.

He's developing a reputation for being an excellent recruiter.

Watched a piece on SEC network where Lunney was breaking down film with Hunter. The way he diagnosed plays and related to players was pretty awesome to me.
