Dude,

We could go undefeated, win every bowl by 14+, with Alabama sweeping the playoffs by 30+ in each game.

And Cowherd and Kannell would still say we suck and not as good as the B1G and FSU.

But we will still get preseason ranking and respect in the PO committee. That's what counts.

So did you say the SEC WAS shite when this didn't happen last year? Or does it only matter when it does happen?

The media trashes the SEC BECAUSE of the SEC's success.

The SEC having a ton of success will just make the hate level go up.

You know you're winning when everyone hates you ... most of the time.

Then there is the exception ... Charlie Sheen. I hope we never become Charlie Sheen.

Yes, the narrative right now is that we were always overrated. It will take a few years to flip it back around.

It wouldn't matter. The SEC could win 20 national championships in a row, and go undefeated in bowls every year, then have 1 bad year and haters will be like 'SEE they suck!!!'

I mean that's kinda what has happened the last few years.

Unreasonable people will be unreasonable no matter what.

Who are these people saying the SEC sucks?

Also, Bama winning another national title wouldn't "Validate" the SEC. The media clearly still believes in Bama.

Alabama is still the SEC's alpha dog (until further notice)

Georgia's still Georgia, Alabama's still Alabama

The media loves Bama. Vegas loves the SEC as well. They have you guys favored in all but one game.

The media can differentiate between Bama et al. and the SEC at large. Bama has earned the right to boast freely and openly. Florida still has bragging rights from its recent string of dominance, but that's fading. Auburn can talk a bit. LSU certainly isn't weighing down the conference by any means.

The other ten teams simply haven't earned on the field the right to boast, and they certainly haven't earned the right to complain about their conference now being treated like other P5 conferences, i.e. prove to me that you're special or else I'll treat you like you aren't.

The removal of special treatment is not a punishment, nor is it reason to complain; in truth, the media is finally looking at the conference as a whole, and the addition of those data points indicates a regression toward the mean.

Toledo and TT over Arky

UF wins in OT v FA

UGA wins in OT vs GS

Seems like a down year for SEC.
