Muschamp has learned from his mistakes.
Just a year away!
Roper will turn this offense around.
Boom can recruit!
T-Rob is ready to be a DC.
Its exactly our board from last year.

Believe me when I say if SOS couldn't deliver SEC east winners with his superior coaching ability then there is no chance Chump will. It will make for some real entertaining viewing watching him melt down on the sidelines.

I don't like saying shite about other fanbases when our team has looked like Muschamps 4-8 2013 team for the past month.

I've said it before; I like Muschamp. I've actually had run-ins with him and used to occasionally hang out with some of his staff. Despite his sometimes questionable on field demeanor, he's actually quite a nice guy who is upbeat and friendly. He was a regular around town in Gainesville, and you would be hard pressed to find a student who has a bad story about meeting him out at a restaurant or bar.
Looking back, he was probably screwed the moment Weis showed up. Looking where Weis and Pease have gone since UF is informative. I've always felt Weis was a hire forced on him to make up for his lack of offensive experience that ended up blowing up in everyone's face. The fact he and Roper are teaming up again is interesting and could means he hits the ground running with a competent OC that is going to be there awhile this time.
Don't get me wrong. He needed to go and probably earlier than he did (though the extra year did set up bringing in Mac), but I think because the relationship was just too sour by the end of his third year to ever swing the ship back around. He should have had a job like USCe his first time out to begin with, and while I am not 100% sold on him as an HC, I won't be shocked if he ends up have a pretty good career as a Chicken.

Theres a fault to your reasoning...Spurrier did not like recruiting much and the past several years his asst coaches didnt do well and it came to roost. So to say Spurrier couldnt do something so Muschamp certainly cant does not hold water. Muschamp is a pretty darn good recruiter and can win mom and pop in the living room.
As has been alluded, Muschamp was very popular at UF...not just with the players...but he took the time to talk to a lot of coaches of other sports besides football. Jeremy and Machen didnt want to fire him...they had to because of $$ but they sincerely liked him. And also alluded to is the Weis hire...it may not have been forced...but I think Hamburger Charlie had been job seeking and speaking to Jeremy...its too bad he didnt hire a very good OC right off the bat. It might be in a couple years but we may face USC before long and it may not turn out the way we want it to.

Stop.
Stop, stop, stop.
The moment he fricked up was when he decided to run a pro-style offense with no pieces to implement it and refused to change his gameplan.
The moment he fricked up was playing Driskel, a clear spread quarterback, under center for an entire year.
The moment he fricked up was when he got so involved with the offense (something he is completely green in) that we regressed 30+ years.
He got outcoached by motherfricking Georgia Southern, at home, with 0 passes completed from the opposing team.
He may be a good guy, but he was a fricking godawful head coach and he will never be successful at South Carolina. They don't need a senseless ape, they needed a hot new up and comer.
You're not 100% sold on him as an HC? Well frick, man, are you even 20% sold? Because he kind of wrecked our program.

Only thing Muschamp has going for him is that he got a head coaching gig way too early and the expectations at USCe won't be as high as they were here.
I'm not gonna bag on Muschamp more though.
It's time to move on. Fwiw, I think he genuinely is a good guy.

Does that mean that they won't be upset if they don't bowl every year?
He'll do fine in that department.

Straw...you are very wrong...I mean way way way wrong. Its easy to serve blame sandwich for lunch...but everyone have a bite of it...including fans.
Dont even talk about fricking Ga Southern...Saban wouldnt have won either with the same team we had dude. 3rd string QB who couldnt hit the broadside of a barn at 10 paces, just the week before the GSU game we took 59 bodies on the plane to Brice Williams including 4 damn walk ons...does THAT sound like a team hurting from injuries? A walk on started at LB, Easley was hurt, we had Davis a true frosh play his first varsity ball (except for special teams & the coaches were hoping to r/s him)) against GSU at LB...our injuries were unbelievable...period.
Was Muschamp a great coach? No...of course not...but he has forgotten more about defenses than most coaches will ever learn. Dont bring up AU this year either...you cant make chicken salad outta chicken shite. He has probably learned a lot since 2011 and we will see what happens.
We will agree to disagree...you hate Muschamp...but its his freaking defense that has won almost every fricking game this year.....better thank him for that. Proof is in the pudding and again...we may find the going tough against USC real soon...Muschamp is a good recruiter and thats what was missing the past two years at USC.

Treon is just as bad a QB as we have ever had. Not the rest of the team, he's just the worst QB we've had in a long, long time.
I would prefer to have any of the guys who transferred than Treon right now, but you know what? Mac still won the shite games.
quote:
.does THAT sound like a team hurting from injuries?
Florida has pinned its problems on a slew of injuries. But that excuse doesn't work against Georgia Southern, which has won three in a row and played without 19 of 65 scholarship athletes.
They were just as hurt, if not more hurt than us.
quote:

You realize that this defense has done better than the last two years of Muschamp defenses? You realize that Muschamp ran the offense to rest the defense? That he played stupidly conservative ball that inflated his numbers?
quote:
Muschamp is a good recruiter and thats what was missing the past two years at USC.
He turned in some of the worst recruiting his last two years.
His defense gave up 400+ yards to an FCS, Reel.
I have no idea why we have to talk nice about a guy who clearly has not shown an INKLING of ANYTHING good for the past six years.
Are you saying you'd prefer Muschamp to Mac?
frick no. Muschamp is a loser in football, good guy, but he won't do any better at South Carolina.

Unlike a lot of folks, I don't look at two seasons of bad football as much more than that at school like UF. It was a shitty two years, not a mortal slight. Life moves on in professional college football for the haves.
In answer to your snarky retort, well frick man, I am at least 20% sold he can be a good coach.

He shouldn't have gotten on the job training at Florida, but I think he'll be a good coach eventually.

No you are right Straw...he was horrible and caused us 4 bad years...even though we went 11-1 in his 2nd year...man you need to take some meds and put away the Boom anger...its ok we are here for you
The only thing I can blame Boom for is 2014 season...but you put in a cancelled lightning game, a dropped pass in end zone game against LSU where we would have won and two inexplicable not so special gaffes in the last 5 minutes of USC game...we would have been 10-2 man. But he is the HC and gets the blame for it in the long run....which he should.
Spurrier said it best one year....some games are just meant to be lost. I have been around college football a damn long time and have seen way way way too many games the Gators have lost that should have never happened. The 1989 Ole Miss game at home is one of the best examples....2008 Ole Miss game kinda up there, 2001 2006 & 2007 AU games etc etc These are just some of the games where we were far superior and still lost...but the 1989 game was an enigma.

Ya'll didn't give Muschamp a fare chance tbh

You don't get to follow up a 4-8 season with 7-5 at UF. He had plenty of chances. If he was at UF any longer the roster imbalance would be beyond fixable.

I don't get why so many people want to claim that Muschamp is a great recruiter . Do you guys actually have any facts to back this up? The talent level on the UF football team went down while he was the head coach. The defensive talent is similar to what it was before . Of course he recruits good at major programs , who doesn't? I am not buying Muschamp winning over mom and dad when he just had players follow him to Auburn then left them after the first year. Plus the way he acts on the side line.
I don't get why everyone blames Weiss , he had the best offense under Muschamp until Brantley got injured. Then he leaves for a crappy job. Muschamp had 3 OCs and the offense look the same under all 3 plus none of them ran the offense they were forced to run at UF. The offense struggled because of recruiting and have spread players and coaches running pro style offense.

Ok you can leave now. At Florida our expectations are a little higher than just getting into a bowl game. We gave him more of a chance than Zook. You don't lose to GA southern at Florida. Sorry we have just as much if not a little less talent this year than last year and what it comes down to is coaching is the difference.
As far as recruiting goes if you look at the recruiting rankings it shows that a Muschamp led Florida didn't do to bad. But you have to look at the personnel and the evaluations. What I mean is we recruited great on defense and those are the players that elevated us in the recruiting rankings. Besides Kelvin Taylor, Grier what happened to getting top offensive talent. That's right we recruited Derrick Henry to be a LB. Treon Harris to be a QB when FSU had him as a CB and then lost Dalvin Cook and Ermon Lane in the last week before NSD. Our best WR recruit is DeMarcus Robinson AKA Bud Robinson because he cant stay off the weed. What really hurt us is look at his O-Line recruiting his last two years and look at how many of them are on the team and contributing. I don't know how we would've fielded and offensive line this year without Mac's recruiting close out at the end of last year.
Will Muschamp's Gator highlights.
-2011: first losing conference record since 1979. Ranked 98th on offense
- 2012: 5th ranked recruiting class. No offensive talent 2 lineman total.
-2012: 11-2 with a near loss to Louisiana Lafayette a bowl beatdown by Louisville. Ranked 97th on offense.
-2013: No 7 recruiting class. Finished 4-8 and first losing record since 1979 and second conference losing record since 1979.
-2013: Muschamp became the first Gators coach to have two losing SEC records since 1950.
-2013: Gators 22 year bowl streak ended.
-2013: Gators first loss to Vandy since 1988 and first at home since 1945.
-2013: First loss to FCS team in school history.
-2013: 3rd straight loss to GA. Ranked 114th on offense
-2014: No.9 recruiting class. Again no offensive talent with exception of Grier and Bud.
-2014: We beat GA the highlight of Muschamp's coaching career at UF.
- Finished 28-21 17-15 in conference.
Think about this we had the number 5,7 and 9 ranked classes his last 3 years and we literally only have 3 offensive playmakers to show for it. Grier, Taylor and Robinson.

Dropped passes by defensive ends he moved to tight end
While goolsby sat on the bench the entire year
never once had a wr show promise like callaway did this year
shite all our wide receivers dropped everything under muschamp I wonder why could of been because GA's like bush hamdan and Chris leak were their coach guys who never coached the position in their life lol muschamp couldn't of been worse if he tried
He neglected the offense so much it's astounding
Lol at any South Carolina fans that think he just needed one more year and Grier would of looked just as good under champ as he did under Mac

Are you freaking kidding me? Have you watched our defense this year??? Better thank Muschamp.
We had already been dialed in with Driskel w/o Muschamp but we did get Brissett. We did get Sharpe and Kelvin Taylor, DRob etc etc. Not going to say offensive recruiting was great but it did improve the last two years.
The problem with Muschamps first year was Urb left left us shite on offense too...we had two scatbacks that weighed 175 soaking wet....so we couldnt run at DLs. Cant win if you cant run...Gillislee was injured most of the year. Even if Brantley didnt get hurt we were going to be a passing offense with no substance. Weis would sit on coolers during practices....but at least he got medical care for his offspring at Shands..which is why he came to UF I think.
