I generally don't frequent areas that I would need to CC. Ok with a little more bulk in those rare times that I need to carry.

Like at church, the movies, a Christmas party, QT to pick up a 12 pk, Walmart to get stocking stuffers?? Unfortunately nowadays its the places you feel like you wouldn't need to CC that are the places you definitely need to. You never know when it will be needed. If that unfortunate event ever did arise that you needed it I'm positive you'd rather deal with a little discomfort of having it, than living with "what if's".

With that said if you're looking for a 1911 go with .45 if you want a 9 I'd go with something double stacked. I love my G19.

Definitely 9MM. Plenty of stopping power and easier to control. For protection load it with a "birdshot" she'll in first position followed by kill bullets if needed.

Sadly, this is all too true. I've yet to come to grips with this mentally I think, as someone who does not currently possess a firearm. Thanks for the mental check... will give that some thought as well.

Traveling to anyone of those places is a much more dangerous activity than being in one of them without a handgun. Carrying a gun all of the time is like wearing a condom 24 - 7....it is a dammed nuisance and completely unecessary. I wouldn't change anything so that you couldn't do it but why on earth do y'all feel the need to be armed all of the time or even some of the time? I have a house full of guns because I like killing shite, I enjoy shooting shite and, if you buy high end firearms they aren't a terrible investment....but I have never thought long about carrying one of the dammed things to walmart with me...hell I can't keep up with my cell phone, imagine leaving a loaded pistol in the buggy at walmart....life is too dammed short to be scared...I can't do anything about a car running a stop sign and killing me and mine, I can't do anything about a wing snapping off an airplane and killing me and mine, and the list goes on and on. I would bet that more people die of bad batteries in smoke detectors in the US every year than home invasions where being strapped would have made a difference....y'all are blowing the scariness of the world out of proportion...it is horrible to see shite like just happened in California but in perspective it is much more dangerous to clean your gutters out than it is to be unarmed in public....but if it makes you happy it can't be that bad....
