What we know so far

HC Barry Odom
OC Josh Heupel (TX)
DC Demontie Cross (TX)
RB Cornell Ford (STL)
OL Glen Elarbee
TE Joe Jon Finley
WR Andy Hill (KC)
QB Josh Heupel (TX)
DL Chris Wilson (GA/FL)
LB Demontie Cross (TX)
CB Greg Brown
S Ryan Walters (GA)
S&C Rohrk Cutchlow

- I think it was a good idea to hang onto Ford. He's been recruiting in St Louis for a very long time and has landed some big fish for us. Also two huge targets on the IL side for next year's class that he is the lead recruiter for.

- Hill staying on as well. Smart to keep both of these guys and lock up our Missouri recruiters

- I don't know if there is a better S&C coach. Pivotal move to retain Ivey-NVM, Ivey is out.

What exactly is Pat Ivey's role? He's not just with the football program, correct? Isn't he part of the AD and works with more than football?

I see him as another critical person to keep on. He's one of the best S&C guys in the country.

I'm not sure who exactly employs him, but Rhoades says Odom will pick the S&C coach. I agree, I'd like to keep Ivey.

IMO, he and the guy at Alabama are two of the best around. And I far prefer Ivey's demeanor - the guy from Alabama puts the H in ADHD.

I think you can put Odom in at LB as well.

If I made upwards of $80 million playing in the NFL I would not sign on to make a few hundred thousand for the grind that is college football position coach...on the road recruiting and working your tail off untold hours. I would love to see him in an advisor's role but I can't imagine anything else.

Don't some of these positions need to go to recruiting monsters from around the SE USA?

You are absolutely right. Unless he is missing the game after a few months. He's been playing as a kid and its hard to walk away. You never know.

BUT BUT BUT, how many players had HOF careers as a player in the NFL and as a coach, could be the first?

I think Kul should get his shot at DC. Hire a younger DL coach to learn from Kul while he is still around. Kul could learn under Odom if he hasn't already.

From Ivey's bio...
quote:

Pat Ivey was named the National Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year in 2013. This award preceded his completion of a Ph.D. in Sport Psychology from the University of Missouri in 2013. In 2012, Ivey attained the status of Master Strength and Conditioning Coach from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.

In February 2011, Ivey was named Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Performance for the University of Missouri after serving the previous four years as Assistant Director for Athletic Performance and three years as the Director of Strength and Conditioning. In this role he is responsible for the entire player development program for football, overseeing the development of Missouri's remaining varsity sports, as well as sports nutrition.

He's in the AD. So will likely continue to be there. We hope.

I'd bet plenty that if he shows any interest in helping the program...they'll let him choose his hours and role.

I think he made $2000/month when he "assisted" this season (before he got pissed and left)

Edit: It was $1200/month

No surprise there. He's the one that came to Mizzou with Odom from Memphis right?

There's some scuttlebutt that Ivey stoked the flames on the player boycott. Anyone else hear that?

For real? I didn't hear that. That's very disappointing. And if true, changes my opinion of him. I had a lot of respect for him. Damn.

Hill should be with the WRs. No question. And associate HC, no need to change that.
