His post said both sides were wrong. Both escalated the situation.

I was just replying to the last post. Not really directing at anyone in particular.

When you ask a guy to leave and he doesn't, what do you do? The middle of a crowd full of drunk football fans isn't the time/place to deliberate.

Even if guy was obnoxious....the cop was in wrong by what I see. He punched a guy that was not a threat. I certainly don't want that cop in charge of a dicey situation. You can man handle and cuff...but you can't throw punches unless you are defending self.....it was clear the guy was doing nothing but running mouth.

when you think of the term veteran, you think of someone enlisted in the Army or Marines kicking sand in the middle east.

....and not a national guardsman like in this particular case.

Strange post. Multiple National Guard units in MS served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I normally like your posts pank, but you really showed your arse with this one. If you'd like, I can provide you with as many MS national guard soldiers numbers as you'd like, so you can talk to them about their time being weekend warriors while also "kicking sand", please let me know. Maybe you could even write an article about your calls with them to inform other ignorant fricks just how many have, and are currently risking their lives for us.

That was a dick post from me....not gonna try and defend it. I have friends both in the guard and in different branches. They have no problem agreeing with each other that there is a bit of difference....just not nearly as big as I made it seem in those posts.

My apologies.

In somewhat related news...there's a decent chance that I'll be enlisting soon.

That's part of it. Mainly for the career change without having to go back to college. I've thought about air traffic controller or something logistics.

That could be interesting...do you have a degree? If so you should look into getting a commission. It would broaden your opportunities when you get out.

I left school before I graduated. Had a ton of hours though. I figure I'll just test out of courses while serving.

Atc's make a ton of money in the civil sector. 20 year retirement plan and averages about 122k a year. I'm ok with that

I have an Intel slot that would fit you well.

We just sent a girl from OM to basic to be an Intelligence linguist. She graduated in Oxford then shipped 2 weeks later.
