Absolutely not. Close? Sure. Better? No.

This is true, but at what point does possibly needing to go 12-0 instead of 11-1 become an issue? Because as of now, if you go 11-1 and win the SEC, you are in. If you go 11-1 and win the ACC, you better have had a really, really impressive 11-1. It is not guaranteed.

my issue was Winston bucking at his suspension by coming out in pads and a jersey. He should have added a week to it for that stunt

While he would be a good fit I don't see why he would leave FSU. Easier conference, can recruit the same players, they can pay just as much as LSU

Dominating losses. I am rooting for us this weekend of course. But if by some chance Ole Miss wins in a dominating manner, I hope you're still around to give your opinion. Because those of us who are ready for a change aren't upset about losses. It's about the manner in which LSU lost.

I say this at the risk of seeming as though I don't respect Miles. And I do. I respect the hell out of Miles. He's done great things for LSU, and the bromance began post-Katrina. That being said, LSU fans have witnessed some real head scratchers over the years. Lots of clock management wtf's, offensive philosophy stagnant, losing games he shouldn't, playing down to opponents, etc..Idk how good of a gameday coach Jimbo is, but I don't recall seeing a lot of these type mistakes. I also see that Jimbo has coached a lot of QBs who are now in the league. A lot of them 1st rounders (Ponder, Manuel, Jamarcus, Winston) and as an LSU fan, man, that sounds sweet. What a breath of fresh air a QB developing coach would be. So would we have similar success? Maybe. All that I ask is that the same success come in a not so "pull your hair out at times" way, if that makes any sense.
Makes total sense. Probably exactly where I would be as an LSU person.

I don't want Miles fired. Our fickle fans bought into the hype, even when most predicted 9-3 10-2.
so as long as we do better than preseason prognostications that's ok?

LSU will spend more on football coaches, facilities, and recruiting and has shown we are willing to do so.
We pay out the arse for assistants, even if they suck balls.
Also, its easier to recruit at LSU. Amazing in-state talent with no in-state competition. Its a recruiters dream job. And we still pull top guys out of Florida and Texas every year.

Good thread dudes - I was really hoping to get some in-depth responses and you guys delivered. Really interesting situation. I know we are all mortal enemies these days but I have nothing but respect for LSU. I like Miles too, but if I were LSU fans I would feel exactly the way a lot of you feel.

Ideally I'd have Jimbo and let him bring Sanders as OC. Keep O, Raymond and Frank. I don't know who I'd want at DC, but I wouldn't be opposed to O at that spot.

As a person i like les. As a coach i don't mind some of his style. I still think we should be more like the Bama offense. Its power and running but they focus on match ups instead of banging their head against the wall.
Les bringing Peveto back really soured me on him.

But at least it could keep Frank around.

Yea, I mean if you want to even stay more power less west coast then look at what Arkansas does. They are the definition of smash mouth, but they run it efficiently.

I wouldn't be against letting Ed O be the DC. He has called games before and it can't be worse than steele.

les got a pass last season for 8-5. i don't think expecting the team to do better than the last two games is unreasonable.
