A history of Auburn, Georgia

In 1733, James Oglethorpe acted on a charter granted by King George to found a colony as the king's namesake, Georgia.
It was a special day in this nation's great history as Georgia would eventually become the crown jewel of the South.
What many people forget, or otherwise never knew, is that in the early history of the colonies, Georgia extended west to the Mississippi River.
In the future, as the Appalachian mountains were conquered and were no longer a geographic barrier to America's manifest destiny, the need for more localized government to serve the westward expansion of population gave rise to the states of Alabama and Mississippi. Georgia was their mother state.
Those are the facts as history would have you believe. Black and white. The real world outcome.
But in our hearts and minds, part of what would become Alabama would always remain Georgia to the core. That area, of course, is Auburn. The loveliest village on the plains [of Georgia].
This truth has benefited no one more than the state of Georgia.
At the inception of college football in the deep south, Auburn's football squad defeated their counterparts from Athens in their shared capital, Atlanta.
Auburn has ever since been the curator of football excellence in the historic province of Georgia. Countless Georgia natives have answered the internal beck and call to serve their football program in the Auburn enclave, to great success.
The rivalry is dead-tied, which lends itself as evidence to the fraternal struggle that only two shared statesman could fight.
But tomorrow will be a day of mercy, and will present the other side to fraternal struggle... the side of compassion and altruism. You see, Mark Richt has cast a great illness over both programs, putting dents equally into each one's prestige and accomplishments. Auburn as the noble brother and the true heart of Georgian football will do what is necessary tomorrow to deal the lethal blow to Richt's paper empire.
The darkness over Georgia proper will recede, starting tomorrow. And it isn't surprising at all that the darkness will be blinded by the light that is the loveliest village on the plains.
I predict:
UGA 3:16 Auburn
3:16
It's a God thing.

So this means Richt has owned Auburn, AL 200 years prior to being born? Interesting

We worship New Testament God, one of passion and forgiveness. Under the new covenant.
You worship Old Testament God, one of jealousy and vengeance. You are obviously in the midst of one of his plagues.
