Just some stats:
LSU, which averaged 81 PPG, who 38% from the field, and just 32% in the second half (8 of 25).
Bama meanwhile shot 52% in the second half, and made 6-of-15 3-pointers in the 2nd half. Obasahan shot 50% from the perimeter.
Since free throw shooting has been dismal this year, Bama finally did okay, shooting 83% from the charity stripe. Retin also was 11-11.
Despite Taylor and Hall having bad games offensively, they did fairly well in terms of defense. 4 blocks between both of them and 9 rebounds. I'd say this was Taylor's best game in terms of rebounding.
Speaking of rebounding, Norris had 16!!! Hell of a fighter.
Offensively though for Hale and Norris, they were a combined 2-13 from the field. Not good. They've got to start hitting those open shots, because they do not come often. I do think this was just a bad game though and they'll get it together.
Coleman has continued to impress me. He had 21-points, 5-of-8 from beyond the arc. He's money from the FT, he led the team with 5 assist, and dangerous with that jumper. His dribbling skills are very underrated too.
This is Bama's first 5-game winning streak in the conference in 5 years too!

Saw this from one of the guys who covers Kentucky sports:
I missed that Cal quote about Avery
quote:
@KyleTucker_CJ
Avery Johnson is gonna mess around and win SEC Coach of the Year in his first season coaching college ball. Guy knows a thing'r two.
quote:
@curtisburch
@KyleTucker_CJ Was it his coaching ability that made Calipari swear in a presser earlier this year?
quote:

@curtisburch Yep. "No sh-t, the guy can coach," I believe.

Don't remember the last time I cried about a DAMN basketball game.. Ben Simmons is overrated as hell. TQ is complete trash. Victor was never even rated and if he was, wtf were the scouts thinking. Hornsby should've stayed at who-cares University. Johnny Jones took Avery Johnson's dick to the anus tonight like a God.. Wtf does he even care? I'm done with this arse of a ball club.. Can't wait for baseball to start so CPM can frick us over again.. Don't get me started on next year's football.. I'm done making predictions about this team. I'm glad Avery keeps proving me wrong.

And he's completely taken LSU off his bubble tracker as of now. It's crazy the discrepancy which Lunardi and Palm view us and LSU. I'm really interested to see where Lunardi has us when he posts his new bracket today.

What was LSU's rpi going into last night?
Posted on 2/18/16 at 8:35 am to pvilleguru
71 before last night. Down to 81 this morning.

LSU fans were convinced that they were safe even with a loss. While they did have injuries during their OOC schedule, they don't realize that a decent in conference record won't mean much come selection Sunday. They just don't have enough quality wins.

Were still kinda low according to Lunardi. He has us as a 12 seed, still in the Last 4 In

I saw an LSU fan last night say he expects Bama or Kentucky to win the sec tourney
Posted on 2/18/16 at 8:55 am to AHM21
I know we're pretty much in if we avoid the bad losses, but man, just playing Arky, Aubun, and State will hurt our RPI.
RPI isn't everything though. The selection committee will see Alabama's body of work and how they've ended the season. Don't even think we're on the bubble anymore at this point. Bama could finish with 20+ wins before the NCAA tournament.

Wow wtf. He stated 3 days ago that he sees Alabama "coming a little bit short".
In fact:
quote:
But that's what my numbers are telling me, that they'll just miss because I don't think they'll beat LSU. I don't think they're better than LSU, and they're certainly not better than Kentucky, and they're probably not better than Georgia at Georgia.
quote:
"For a team in Alabama's situation, my first rule of thumb always is finish above .500 in your league," Lunardi said. "They're .500 right now, so they'd have to go 4-2 in the next six minimally, which means holding serve at home and winning at least one road game. And then, even if you were to lose your first conference tournament game, you're still a game above .500 in your league, and hopefully that loss is not to a team below you in the seeding. A loss to a team below you is a bad loss at that point and is probably going to knock you out."
One more quality win would help, Lunardi said.

So now that has been proven wrong, we're still on the bubble?
