I don't understand the point of this at all.

Most college campuses are already the most liberal institutions/societies in American society. They've been preaching "diversity" for decades at this point.

It really seems like the real point of this is actually intolerance. That societies at large become excessively intolerant of ideas and opinions different than their own.

And then I put the tinfoil hat on and think back to Kwanzaa and the Black Panthers and fear so many things like this are plants of the most totalitarian and regressive powers in society, intended to anger the public-at-large against progressivism, just like in the late 60s and early 70s.
