I literally can't make myself watch a college football game from the 70's. It's fricking awful.
Best decade ever for college football, just like the 80's was for college basketball.

Yeah, I miss when the only music in the stadium came from the band. And when people would actually pay attention to the game instead of their smartphones.
Yea and the bands were so good they'd show them on TV at halftime. I hear some say that bands are just as good today, but I don't see it.
I'd also miss how most great teams were flagship schools. You had your exceptions, but only a few had any sustained, long-term success.

I was dismayed being in the Swamp the past few years and seeing younger Gators spend game time looking at their smart phones. From over hearing some conversations it became clear that these younger Gators were given their seats by their parents. Sad.
Well in the old days folks would listen to the band and television crews would almost always let TV viewers watch as their bands played. Too much soap to sell now and the tail is wagging the dog.

Summer of 2003 I found an open door on the Astro Dome with a friend. Walked in because it was basically deserted, walked around for awhile. Accidentally found the security office after about 35 minutes. Guards still worked there. Shot the shite with them, after about 20 minutes we convinced them to let us run out onto the field. They gave us 2 minutes, and warned us if their bosses saw us on camera and called we would be thrown out and maybe charge for trespassing. Had the football field out, not the diamond.
I say that so say this. That "REAL" artificial turf was the worst footing I've ever stood on. 99% of grass high school fields are better. It was simultaneously spongy underfoot, and felt like concrete if you fell. I could hardly sprint on it.
So this:
Like a lot of your list shows you are simply stuck in the past, and miss a dream. Not reality.

Then go to a game. I've never enjoyed the band, I appreciate it, but that is all.
