Would UGA pitch a fit if Georgia Tech was invited to rejoin the SEC?

They would be my first choice if the SEC expanded.

It won't happen for the same reason we will never take another Florida team, clemson, or other Texas team. Every school in the sec that has other power 5 schools in state made a pact to vote against letting any of the other schools into the conference for recruiting purposes basically. Georgia Tech would never get in because Georgia, florida, south Carolina, aTm, and Kentucky would all vote no.

I don't think that would bother UGA. They're going to play anyways might as well make them Sec.

Yeah. Georgia has the luxury of their top rivalry game having no bearing on their SEC standing, same with Florida and South Carolina. Yet, they always point with pride to those games as tough OOC ! LMAO what a crock.

Yep, I don't think most Georgia fans would be against it but as others have said, GT doesn't bring much to the table. Virginia Tech or one of the North Carolina schools would be the logical choices but I don't see that happening. To be honest I was fine with 12 teams and expanding from 14 to 16 only further complicates scheduling. I would like to see Missouri move to the West (makes sense geographically) and Auburn move into the East.

GT is a great school and would bring some class to the SEC. Great geographical fit, too.

Anybody remember their great coach, Bobby Dodd? My Dad's favorite, said he was a great man.

Interesting fact, admittedly not germaine:

Through 1963, when they left the SEC, Georgia Tech had a 12 - 5 record against LSU.

Maybe it's not expansion talk but is "replacement" talk.

We have at least one team in the conference that several feel really doesn't fit.

Why in the world would GA tech want to join the SEC? GA Tech does not give two shits about their football program. They care about academics.

I would welcome them back. I'd love for COFH to have a little more meaning behind it especially if it helped to decide the East.

This is a new complaint. Complete nonsense, but new.

Are you implying that FSU, Clemson, and some years GT are not tough OOC games?

Would rather we kicked Mizzou out and picked up GT in their place. Geographically it makes better sense. Plus, Mizzou doesn't belong

When LSU finds an in-state rival worth a shiite, please get back to us.

We'd be happy to discuss rivals with you.

Not from a TV money perspective.
