you realize the SEC office is the one deciding to play these weekday games, we just play when were told to

I'm sure they take volunteers. Ole Miss decided to stop it in the late 90s and hasn't played one since. I don't remember any of the other schools that have taken the hard line on Thurs night games playing one either. You don't see LSU, Alabama, Georgia playing home games on Thurs. (I have not verified each one so don't kill me)

It's always some crap teams like Vandy, MSU, Mizzou, Kentucky, or S. Carolina.

The question should be why should non-traditional football teams turn down the opportunity to play a conference game on national TV when they usually get pushed to the back burner on Saturdays?

Kentucky played the first Thursday night in Commonwealth in front of a sold-out crowd.

Competitive advantage for next weeks games. Both had byes the week before. Gives both teams 2 extra days to prepare for tough tests the week after.

Totally agree! I enjoy the Thursday night games, good chance to go out with friends for an extended happy hour and watch some football as well!

So, you would enjoy if the Gators started playing home games on Thursday night?

I kind of liked having the Egg Bowl on Thanksgiving night. Didn't Ross say that he was trying to get it moved to Thurday more often?

So you've just completely blocked out the game in Columbia when we were ranked #4 in the country and Spurrier and the Cocks handed is a 16-10 defeat which cost us Gameday and a top 3 ranking the next week ?

SC "always" plays their first game of the year on Thursday night. What better way to kick off the season?

Good luck with whatever troll angle you are working here but didn't we play
South Carolina on a Thursday night at Carolina in 2007?

I remember it because we were over ranked and shite the bed.

* it was 2009

Sorry to screw up your troll, but facts are facts

LSU played Moo State on Thursday in 2011. I actually kind of liked having that game out of the way so I could enjoy the rest of the slate on Saturday.

Their defense gets essentially a full bye.

I didn't say that, but in general I enjoy the games being played on Thursday night as it's something fun to watch vs an NFL game, those are better to watch on Sunday imo!

Haven't we done it twice in like the last six years, USC 2009 and Boise 2014?
