Would Merlins be a legitimate candidate for another HC job this year?

He's really done a great job with MSU, and this year he's probably done much better than anyone thought, considering who left after last year. He seems happy at MSU, but still seems like he doesn't fit in there (at least to me).
Lots of good job openings this year.
MSU posters - Any concerns that he would leave?

Can he get it done without the Dak attack?

The schools that are willing to match his salary have no interest. The schools that would hire him (Maryland, Va Tech maybe, Miamia, Minnesota, etc.) won't be able to compete w/ MSU money so he would really have to want to leave. If I were him, i would try to get a incentive laden contract w/ Hawaii. He already has the weak arse scheduling down.

He won nine games one year and should have beaten Cam and Auburn (dropped pick 6) with Chris Relf.

Don't worry. According to State fans, they have three more Daks already on campus w/ ankle monitors that won't let them near Panama City during spring break.

Who were the OOC opponents, who were the East opponents?

This is literally discussed every single year, and every single year he's at MSU. He's making over $4 million and pretty much unfireable. Why would he go anywhere? Job security and he's building the program quite nicely.

Georgia
Florida
Sumlin's Houston team
Michigan in a bowl
All four wins.

Nobody is going to pay the like 15 million buyout to take him, and then pay him more than the 4.5 million a year he's averaging over the next 4.

I don't think you quite understand buyouts. Just because he has a buyout if he gets fired doesn't mean a school would have to pay the same buyout to hire him away. There's not much reason that Mullen would agree to that.
I don't think he's going anywhere but I guarantee no school would have to pay a $15 million buyout to hire him away.

I'd rather MSU keep Mullen than potentially hire someone like Fuente.

They both own the Rebs. But Mullen wouldn't lose to Fuente with far superior talent. That takes a really shiteating coaching job.

I don't think USC will offer him, but I think he could win a national championship or two there.
