Are Bama fans more pumped and on edge about this week or the Tennessee game?

I am in Alabama this week and am hearing a lot about the Alabama-LSU game from people and on talk radio. There seems to be a real buzz in the air - almost a palpable fear/excitement.
I know that LSU is not a rivalry game for Alabama and Tennessee is. How does TSIO compare to this? What is the excitement level? What do Bama fans do to prepare for that game? Is the tension as high?
As an LSU fan without a rival, I don't know what that is like. Help me understand how it works that is different from what I am hearing from Bama fans this week regarding Alabama-LSU.

I'll give you the answer you want to hear and say they're more pumped about LSU, simply because it's a crucial battle of top 5 teams with major SEC and national implications. That said, Bama-LSU will never be close to the level of true rivalry that TSIO is.

Easily this game. This game has national title implications....TSIO doesn't. That's really all there is to it. TSIO is always a huge weekend for both teams but TN needs to step it up before it can reach the hype of Alabama LSU this weekend.

More people care more about LSU/Bama than Bama/UT these days.
I would think they are more excited about the LSU game.

I think it's Bosnian for WGAF.

I feel LSU game is huge cause they are ranked high. UT game is huge cause real hate involved so two different feelings for me.

If UT would step up their game and win every once in a while then this would be true.

Bama-LSU has meant to lot nationally the past 10 years.

I'll try to explain this so that any corndog can understand.
Tennessee is a team Bama fans hate even when they suck. Bama fans are only excited about LSU lately because LSU has been good. When you go back to being shitty again, Bama will think of you as they do Mississippi State.

You know the answer. This is the Game.It has been for the last 6-7 Seasons.
It's a different kind of Rivalry. If Bama gets beat it's easier to accept.
"Third Saturday In October".

Why do some of yall keep comparing yourselves to Tennessee?

This game is the premier rivalry in the SEC. Easily this game, I'd guess.

the question you should be asking is, would bama fans even care about this game if LSU had a losing record like VOLS did

It's similar. You lose and go home.

Had more family come in for TSIO. It's a traditional rival that's ingrained in us, and we fricking hate them. LSU is a really good team, and a challenge for us. It's a different kind of buzz.
In 2009, you could say we were "more" excited for Florida than Auburn. But it's just a big game we want to win, not a deep seeded personal rivalry.

Like how yall forgot LSU and Bama played each other between 2003 and 2007?

Clearly this game.. The score ended up being close but no one actually thought Tennessee had a chance

Of course not
But they just pretend to care about UT anyways
Saban even admitted his team was "tired" and "not playing with energy". What kinda rivalry is that?
