Jeff Schultz takes aim...

Mark Bradley piles on.

There is no reason Georgia, with its recruiting base and relative unlimited resources, can’t compete and win for championships. To believe the Dogs will turn it around next season would be to hinge hopes on a true freshman quarterback, Jason Eason, and suddenly cohesive and well-functioning coaching staff. Those are dangerous assumptions.

Not to mention a rebuilt offensive line. One that would replace a an veteran unit that is pretty impotent.

Georgia has played two ranked opponents this season, Alabama and Florida. It lost both games — one at home, one on a neutral site — by a composite score of 65-13. It also lost at Tennessee, whose only other wins this season have come over Bowling Green, Western Carolina and Kentucky.

This is the worst UGA team since Ray Goof was in charge. I would rather take a chance on some new blood and potentially walk in the wilderness with UT then sit here and watch this continue on. Richt doesn't act like he cares. He is phoning it in. You can see it on his face, you can hear it in the post game pressers.

I agree that this could be the best year to catch a rising star a la Fuente/Herman.

The UGA opening (should it materialize) would rocket to the 1b to Southern California on the board.

We haven't scored a TD in 135 minutes & only 4 in our last 4 games. What kinda positive article should they have written?

Herman

In the case of Richt leaving this offseason, I would make a pass at Jimbo Fisher just to see if he's interested. After that most likely failed, Herman would be my choice.

Key for me liking him over Fuente is that he has experience at big programs, especially with the recruiting demands.

This. There are certifiably zero fricks given in Richt-ville.

Herman is my favorite, too. I'll take someone with NC pedigree running the whole show.

I seen people mention Jimbo multiple times. Why would Jimbo leave FSU for UGA? Does he have ties to UGA?

I don't think he would, but I've seen it mentioned elsewhere that he would take the LSU job. If that's the case, it's at least worth gauging his interest in UGA.

With the amount of shite he's had to deal with at FSU (media scrutiny, messy divorce, etc.), maybe he'd want a fresh start.

To even make that feasible, UGA would need to come in with a $6-7M offer and a large scale university commitment in writing, imo. FSU can't make that happen.

True enough, and the great mystery is where he went wrong. To be sure, he hasn't accomplished anything significant since he stopped calling plays. To hear him tell it, play calling is overrated but I'd counter that hardware tells a different story.

Direct correlation doesn't denote cause and effect, but it points to some of the issues, all the same.

I said it Saturday night and it is happening...the media has turned against Richt. That is the end. There is no coming back from that...the people who finance the program will not tolerate the pundits calling for Richt to part ways.

SO where are we? I think there is a pretty good chance to this is it. If we don't win out and win a bowl game I think Richt is gone. If we go 2-3 and lose to Tech I think he is gone. 2-3 or 3-2 with a win at Tech and he probably survives but Schittyheimer is out of here no matter what. It would not surprise me if Pruitt didn't look for greener pastures also. Once the press turns on the head coach it is almost impossible to come back....
