There's blood in the water....lose more than 2 more this year and even the press will be in the fire Richt bandwagon

Who cares what the press says.

It is indicative of how bad the coaching situation has gotten at UGA. The CFB press never says anything bad about a coach....until it is absolutely impossible to nat admit that a coach is simply bad at what they do. You may not remember the end of the Goff AFN Donnan eras but the press licked their jocks the same way they have Richts for the last 15 years.....but they are starting to question if Richt is worth a frick....it is the beginning if the end.....

Good point my friend brought up and has probably been discussed here. Bauta is touted as a running threat who can bring something else to an offense . Didn't look any different to me today. Why not? What's the point of bauta if he's the same guy but the third best? This is absurd

It started after the Bama beat down, accelerated with UT and now will be in full flight with the Fla beat down by an SEC 1st year head coach.
And they are correct.

If the coaching staff was gonna start a new QB with alleged athletic ability, wouldn't you think they would have game planned around him? The game plan today was status quo. If it was planned like this... I see no reason to start another QB

There is nothing that will get the money folks at UGAs attention like a constant questioning of why Richt is still at UGA in the CFB press. If it weren't for ESPN showing the Fire Goff planes and talking about the booing in Sanford stadium. Ray Goff would have been at UGA at least a couple of mire seasons than he was....the press turned on Donnan and his firing caught almost everyone by surprise. The press turning on Richt will grease the skids when nothing else will...as long as the program ain't embarrassed by the press Richt will stay as long as he likes.....

abh writer destroyed schottenheimer and chip towers in ajc ripped richt in post game editorials. these outwardly critical editorials are a new development and I agree that they will get noticed by the powers that be. It's the beginning of the end.
BTW Donnan was done in by being consistently unlikeable, clashing with Adams, the shadiness of the Quincy situation and most of all losing three straight to tech. in retrospect Donnan recruited very well, was tough, a smart coach and competitor and really is a pretty likeable guy. imo we would have been much better off with him long term than richt.

quote:In college where the turnover rate is 3-5 years, it is best to fit mold your offense around what you have. One would of thought going into this game that Bauta if he did play, would get some rushing opportunities with some designed runs or option reads. The only time I saw him run was for that 9 yard gain when the play broke down. I can understand giving Bauta a chance to play, but why not use him as a runner more than what we did? They just called plays for Bauta as if he was still Lambert.

Also that first play is very indicative of Richt and UGA. We come out in the wildcat and get it to work for a big game, only to get flagged and lose 10 yards, for a -37 yard difference. That play worked well, but did we even try it again after that?

929TheGame started at halftime yesterday and are beating the drums today between NFL segments.
It'll be interesting to hear 680TheFan's take on it tomorrow morning.

The AJC has some rumblings here and there.
quote:
“No shot now (at the SEC East),” head coach Mark Richt said. “That’s when you’ve just gotta decide how you’re gonna prepare and how you’re gonna perform when the main goal is gone. How are you gonna do now? You’ve gotta keep battling. That’s life.” Richt said his message to the team afterwards was “to be men about this.” “We need to guard our words, because in emotional times things get said, things get tweeted, things get out there that most of the time you regret,” Richt said. “In the heat of a loss like that you can really feel a certain way and then maybe the next day not feel quite the same. We know the season’s gonna continue. It’s not gonna end. We know that we need to get back to work and get ready for Kentucky. I told them that’s football and that’s life. “There’s a lot of disappointing things that happen in fotoabll, a lot of disappointing things that happen in life. You can’t lose your composure, you can’t lose your integrity in the process – or at least damage it.”

quote:The way he said it sounded more directed at the team than at fans which makes me wonder how everything is in the locker room. Can't imagine the defense has been happy with the offense.

I mean I think fans should take his advice too because talking shite to college players on stuff like Twitter is just trashy, but it just seemed like an odd thing for him to say.

This whole situation is just bizarre. I'd love to hear from somebody inside the program (which will never happen) about why and how this happens in key games. Something more substantive than "Richt sucks!" or "He should go and mission to kids in Africa" bullshite. We're not the only team with injuries, poor WB play, etc.
I mean...how can an otherwise functional team which does win games against other good teams every now and then be totally dis functional for stretches at a time or against superior opponents.
Is it attitude, motivation, game planning? It doesn't make any sense how we can count on blow out losses every year. I just don't get it.

Anybody gotta clip of the CBS postgame show. They ripped Richt a new one.

That's what I want to know.

to me it started when they, in an almost panicked fashion, decided they needed to find a new QB. It's tough on a team to see the guys they worked hard with, shared pain and sweat with, etc shite on so some new guy gets the nod. Especially a guy who couldn't even start on a not-so-decent ACC team. factor in the loss of Coach Bobo and the OL coach Will Friend + the hiring of yet another failed NFL coordinator and the picture becomes clearer.
It all goes back to a HC who isn't very bright, is a bit lazy in his hiring practices (Martinez, etc) and somehow dissociates himself from the reality of the day. His postgame talk to his players seemed to be like he was outside the program and was charging the players with all the responsibility of what happened. Narcissism and Stupidity are a very, very, very bad combination.

This is horrible,” Jones said on-air following the game. “This is terrible. I don’t know why Mark Richt’s name is being considered for any job. At least at his alma mater at the University of Miami. This was a terrible showing today. Yes, you should give a lot of credit to Florida. But Georgia should be worried. This was putrid. This was disappointing. They are a terrible football team.”

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to rock bottom.
